Ka Chi is located in Korea Town in Toronto. It is my favourite Korean Restaurant in Toronto because of its proximity, price and above all else its super yummy food! Everything I have had at Ka Chi is really good. Trust me, I’ve eaten there a lot and tried a lot of Korean restaurants. Every time I go back to Toronto, for the weekend, I insist on going to Ka Chi.
My two favourite things are the Potato Pancake and Pork Bone Soup (Regular Spicy). There are different levels of Pork Bone Soup which is good for people who can’t handle a lot of heat, or if you are extremely picky about spiciness (cough* Yang cough*). Pork Bone Soup is my favourite Korean dish even though I was told that it isn’t really traditional Korean food. Regardless, I’ve tried a lot of Pork Bone Soup and excluding New York, this is the best Pork Bone Soup I’ve had (reviewed here). What makes it different is the beansprouts and cabbage added on top with the lime. It adds a refreshing quality to the broth plus a gripe I have with other Pork Bone Soups is there aren’t enough vegetables to make it a complete meal. But this one is perfect! The pork is tender, soft and easily falls off the bone.
The potato pancake is simply amazing. I can’t help ordering it each time, even though I know we won’t be able to finish it. I’ve even tried to make it many times at home, but can’t even come remotely close. It’s crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy in the middle. Its not for everyone, but if you like fries you should consider it.
If you are craving Korean Food or want to try it for the first time, make sure you give Ka Chi a try! I highly recommend it.
